A big thanks goes out tonight to Fast Freddie, formerly of “The Wolf” Mahoning Valley radio station, for a great time earlier today on his new podcast in the snazzy new Youngstown Studio in downtown Youngstown. Freddie (aka Fred Woak) conducted a fast and fun interview with Bertram and me on Bertram’s new book, No Holds Barred, during which Bertram shared many behind-the-scenes anecdotes never before heard by the public.
No Holds Barred, a compilation of some of Bertram’s best columns over his 40-year career with The (Youngstown) Vindicator is now available for order on his website, scribblergroup.com, and will also be on shelves at Barnes & Noble in Boardman as of next Tuesday, Sept. 29. Check back to our events link for details on Barnes & Noble’s upcoming virtual author event with Bertram, me, our book designer Robert McFerren and our website developer David Laird.
And when you have the chance, check out Youngstown Studio’s Facebook page for all their great interviews (https://www.facebook.com/youngstownstudio/) conducted by Fast Freddie and other local podcasters. The Studio is an exciting new venture that aims to bring back “Youngstown-area content to the community, nation and the world,” and spotlight this Valley’s enormous creative talent in today’s ever-changing media landscape. It’s well worth your time. Joe Danyi explains it all here: https://www.facebook.com/youngstownstudio/videos/643918373220430
