No Holds Barred is a 368-page book that honors The Youngstown Vindicator, which closed its doors on August 31, 2019, after 150 years of trailblazing journalism. The book contains about 300 columns written by Bertram de Souza that spotlight the important events in the history of the Mahoning Valley, including the rise and fall of James A. Traficant Jr., the stranglehold of the Mafia, public corruption and the closing of the 53-year-old General Motors Lordstown assembly plant. The chapters are enhanced by photographs and illustrations that provide a visual narrative of the Valley, and a “Stop the Press” section includes Letters to the Editor, some special columns and some previously unpublished photos.
